2020 - 2021

  • Museum of Art and History, Santa Cruz, CA, group exhibition, In These Uncertain Times. Saffron Ribbons: In Grief

and Solidarity. An installation commemorating 450,000+ US Covid deaths as well as deaths due to police violence and systemic racism. Utilizing ribbons created by members of ARRT and displayed across the county during most of 2020, I designed this memorial. January to June

  • Center for Photography, 8 x 10 invitational Fundraising exhibit. Carmel, CA, Sept.

 

2019

  • Filoli Gardens, Nest: Finding Home. A 6 month exhibition attended by 75,000 visitors. American Women: Birds of

im/Migration series sparked Filoli’s exploration of the immigrant pasts of the workers at Filoli since it was built in 1915. Link to Artist's Film here.

  • Stanford University, purchased five Reichtag Prints for their collection.

  • ARRT group exhibition, Human/Nature, RCNV, Santa Cruz, Co-organizer/curator. 

  • Center for Photography, 8 x 10 invitational Fundraising exhibit. Carmel, CA, Sept. 

2018

  • Sanchez Art Center, Main Gallery, Pacifica, CA – One-person show – American Women: Birds of im/Migration

series of 25 pieces plus installations curated by Susan Hillhouse Leask.

  • Center for Photographic Art, Carmel, State of the Art, Invitational Group Exhibition in Santa Cruz, 15 Northern

CA artists with panel presentation.

  • ARRT group exhibition, Co-organizer/curator, ARRT and the Pursuit of Hope. RCNV. 

  • Santa Cruz County-wide Exhibition, Spoken/Unspoken at Santa Cruz Library (Chinese Women: Bound and

Determined series + American Women: Birds of im/Migration print series) Jan. – Mar. and at UCSC Porter Faculty Gallery, 3 satirical Trump portraits in the Political Response ARRT Exhibition.

  • Stanford’s Institute for Research in the Social Sciences, an ongoing display of 23 pieces in the American Women:

Birds of im/Migration series throughout the building Feb. 2018 to May 2019.

  • Courier International, French Magazine, 4 page spread of Stonewalled in Jerusalem images with an article on

shared trauma in the Israeli-Palestinian impasse.

2017 

  • Viewpoint Photographic Center, Sacramento, California, Mar. – Apr. Two Person Show, showcasing American

Women: Birds of im/Migration, 22 pieces, curated by Roberta McClellan.

  • ARRT (Artists Respond and Resist Together) Exhibition, July 3 – Aug. 19. helped establish this group of 100 local

artists to exercise our 1st amendment rights and creatively inspire the SC community to express themselves in the interest of protecting our democracy. Resource Center for Nonviolence art space. Santa Cruz. 

  • Center for Photography, 8 x 10 invitational Fundraising exhibit. Carmel, CA, Sept.

  • ResistFest Organizer for a day of political and artistic interactive experiences to mobilize Santa Cruz community

to create, engage and resist. Art installation; Designed and build a large Citizen-Ship with lifeboats to chronicle our first ancestors to journey to America seeking citizenship. Sept. 23 Museum of Art and History Atrium.

2016

2014

  • Cowell College, UCSC, Oct. – Dec. Stonewalled in Jerusalem installation and 18-pc. Exhibit, coincided with

the fall quarter class – “Conflict and Compassion,” + 2 lectures. 

  • Mark & Anne’s Silicon Valley Art Exhibit, San Jose, CA with 200 Bay Area artists, The Wall Installation was featured

along with 25 additional works, landscapes etc.

  • Oshman Family Jewish Community Center, Palo Alto, CA (20,000 membership) Stonewalled in

Jerusalem Interactive Art Installation Apr. 29 – Aug. 25.

exhibition on the theme of identity, Santa Cruz. Disney reflexion.

2012

2010

  • Art for Art  Co-Organized and participated in two Benefit exhibitions R. Blitzer Gallery Dec. 10 – 12 and in May

at the Sash Mill in Santa Cruz. Created SCAARF (Santa Cruz Artists’ Assistance and Relief Fund) with Dee Hooker in August.

  • Saret Gallery Solo show, Sonoma CA Aug. 15 – Sept. 28.

  • Modernbook Gallery 49 Geary 4th fl. San Francisco CA presented my work at the FADA Los Angeles Art Fair in

January and at the New York Affordable Art Fair in May, in Toronto’s International Art Fair in October, Art Miami in December.

2009

  • Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History A+C+C (Assemblage, Collage & Construction),. A museum and

countywide show, curated by Susan Hillhouse. My Fushimi Inari Gates was included in this extensive exhibition featuring local as well as nationally acclaimed artists. Altogether: Collage/Assemblage, at Santa Cruz Art League was part of this   countywide collaboration and 2 Subway Reflexions pieces were selected.

  • ACOA Squared 9 photographs included in this exhibition at Felix Kulpa Gallery Santa Cruz CA of the Community

of Artists 3rd annual show.

  • San Jose Art House Exhibition 9 pieces included in this San Jose Art show benefiting the Arts Council of Silicon

Valley.

  • Open Studios Santa Cruz.  October 3, 4 & 17,18.

  • Lulu Carpenter’s One-person show at, Pacific Ave., Santa Cruz, CA Nov. – Jan.

  • Modernbook/Gallery Work represented by them in Palo Alto, CA. Chinese Women: Bound and

Determined pieces presented at the Red Dot Art Fair in Miami, Dec. 1 – 6, 2009.

2008 

  • Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History Ying, A museum-wide show curated by Susan Hillhouse,

featuring Contemporary Chinese artists as well as American artists inspired by China. My works in the exhibition included an installation of 25 paintings (“Chinese Women: Bound and Determined”), 2 large mixed media works depicting China, 1983, and a handmade book on Bound Feet. 

  • Lulu Carpenter’s, One-person show, Pacific Ave., Santa Cruz, CA 

  • Whitney Gallery Transportation:  Seven pieces from Window Seats and Subway Abstractions in group show,

Savannah, Georgia.
